Where can I watch the 2020 Oscar winners and nominees in Canada?

Only a few of the 2019 films nominated for the 92nd Academy Awards are streaming yet - but the rest will, later in 2020. We'll tell you where.

If you're looking to catch up on all of the winners and other nominees for the 92nd Academy Awards – celebrating the best in film in 2019 as judged by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) – you should be prepared to either shell out for digital rentals or purchases, or wait until late 2020, as not all nominees are yet available on subscription streaming platforms as of this update in July 2020.

That said, some films are already available on Netflix (which acted as the studio behind two of this year's Best Picture nominees) or other streaming services, most others are now available for digital download, and virtually all of the remaining major nominees should hit Crave or Prime Video by the end of the year.

By the way – the Oscars ceremony aired live on Sunday, February 9, 2020 on CTV in Canada (and ABC in the United States) at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time (that's 5:00 p.m. Pacific and 9:30 p.m. in Newfoundland).

A note about our estimates

The estimates and statements about "likely" rightsholders or timings are based largely on past practices for other movies from the listed studios in the recent past. We do not have access to the full contract details, only what the studios and streaming companies choose to announce, and where past releases from those studios have landed. The terms and rightsholders can change from time to time, sometimes with limited advance notice. There may also be exceptions where special distribution terms apply to a particular film.
