This Week in WCIW #2

Welcome to This Week in WCIW, a (probably) weekly recap of news about broadcast and streaming content affecting Canada.

Just a couple of odds and ends over this long holiday weekend in much of Canada:

  • Starz Canada has landed the Canadian rights to another Hulu-commissioned series, High Fidelity, joining Ramy and The Act. The series, produced by ABC Signature Studios, was originally commissioned by Disney+ but ended up on its sister streaming service. The series will be streaming in full on February 21 (one week after its U.S. release) and will also air on the Starz linear channels starting February 27 23. (Updated Feb 19 per Bell Media press release)
  • The Global TV app and streaming website have been relaunched to include access to several other Corus networks including Showcase, W, Slice, and the Canadian versions of Food Network, HGTV, and History, for those subscribed to those networks with a TV Everywhere-supporting service provider. Corus shut down a bunch of individual channel apps about a year ago, and most of those for kids channels like YTV don't seem to have a replacement as of yet.
