This is the March 6, 2023, edition of Watching This Week, the weekly newsletter from Where Can I Watch – covering the latest news on where TV shows and movies will be available in Canada.

It's been a slow week for the type of programming news we cover, but as ever we have your listings for the week, plus we try to answer a reader question about a hard-to-find recent film.

A quick note: Due to increased pressures on my time in the short term, these newsletters will likely be produced in an abbreviated form over at least the next couple of weeks. We hope to resume our usual format and level of content by the end of the month.

This week in deals

  • Crave has revived a deal it has offered in the past – $50 off one year of the Crave Total direct-to-consumer plan, meaning a discounted price of $149.90 – for new and returning subscribers. As usual with these kinds of deals, the service renews at the then-regular price unless you cancel before the discounted year is up. The offer is available until end of day Eastern time on March 15.

Other notes

  • Newly in free preview on various traditional TV service providers such as Shaw and SaskTel through the end of April are Blue Ant's BBC Earth, T+E, and Cottage Life, the latter of which is using the opportunity to launch new series and seasons like Mission Unexplained.

    Also in free preview on many providers: CBC's Documentary channel, Corus' MovieTime and Treehouse, and the Sportsman Channel.

Mailbag

Here's some of the reader questions we've received recently by email (hello@wherecaniwatch.ca). We welcome questions of general interest, and publish a few of them (and our answers) from time to time; messages may be edited for brevity and clarity.

Inge: I've seen drama film The Integrity of Joseph Chambers suggested for some time here and there, but I have never been able to find it to stream or to rent.  Do you know if it is or will be available in Canada at some time, or now?

WCIW: Unfortunately we haven’t heard anything about that film, except that we did see a reference to its distributor being Gravitas Ventures, which has sold streaming rights to Crave in the past but more recently has had films streaming on Prime Video. No idea about timing though.
