Where can I watch "Hacks" in Canada?

Hacks, the multiple Emmy award-winning dark comedy series starring Jean Smart as an aging comedian and Hannah Einbinder as a young writer who reluctantly agrees to help freshen her material, was commissioned by HBO Max, and premiered on May 13, 2021.

The Canadian rights to Hacks are currently held by Bell Media. Although Hacks was produced by Universal Television – unlike most HBO Max originals which are produced by HBO sibling company Warner Bros. – consistent with most other HBO Max original programming that Bell owns rights to, the series is currently only available in Canada on Crave with the Movies + HBO addon, or (with French-language subtitles) on Super Écran.

Both Crave + Movies + HBO (sometimes known as just "Crave Plus") and Crave + Super Écran are available as direct-to-consumer streaming subscriptions for a monthly total of $19.98, or $199.80 per year if paid annually (all prices are before applicable sales taxes). Subscriptions to Crave + HBO, and to Super Écran by itself, are also available through most cable, satellite, and fibre-based television service providers in Canada; prices may vary slightly compared to the direct streaming version of Crave.

While there's a strong possibility that there will be a way in the future to purchase seasons of Hacks through digital retailers like the Apple TV / iTunes Store or Google Play, as of this writing in September 2021 we do not yet know when this will be. So for now, the only authorized option to watch Hacks in Canada is on Crave.
